Dr. Easton Xu formed XuMatic in Rochester, New York on November 1, 2011. Having published over 40 scientific papers and holding one authorized patent and 12 pending patents, Dr. Xu is an international expert in CIGS thin film processes. His extensive experience in academia and industrial research has paved the way for XuMatic to become a global industry leader.  

XuMatic received its first investment from ChemView Consulting Inc. in February 2012

Mr. Mei was appointed as Materials Manager in Feb, 2012. He graduated from the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Rochester and has many years of experience in investment and management. His expertise complemented Dr. Xu’s, and the two reached many milestones in 2012.

Dr. Hanping Xu joined in March, 2012. He has over ten years of experience in the design & implementation of disc, planar, rectangle, & rotary sputtering targets as well as vacuum technology. Prior to joining, he was a project manager in Kurt J Lesker Co and a lab manager at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Dong joined Xumatic on March 19, 2012. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and has been focusing on DSSC and instrumentation using Labview software. He has been instrumental in drafting numerous proposals since joining.

XuMatic began offering bonding services. Backing-plate bonding is one of the most important processes in sputtering - providing maximum thermal conductivity and mechanical strength. A well-bonded sputtering target is demonstrated to have a longer usage life than a non-bonded one and can also increase the efficiency to achieve faster sputtering rates.

NREL and the National Navy Research Laborator (NRL) purchased CIGS and CZTS targets from Xumatic Inc. on June 18, 2012.

Mr. Dong Su joined Xumatic on June 18, 2012. Mr. Su received his B.S. degree from the prestigious USTC in China and his M.S. degree from Oregon State University. Mr. Su is an expert at organic chemistry synthesis.

Xumatic Inc began a partnership with the PVMC (Photovoltaic Manufacturing Consortium), focusing on CIGS thin film solar energy commercialization on July 4, 2012.

Dr. Chaehyun Kim joined the Xumatic team during summer 2012. Dr. Kim is an expert at solar energy and equipment. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Physics at University at Buffalo on July 28, 2012.

Xumatic Inc. established a branch office at Pudong, Shanghai China on Sep 1, 2012.

Mr. Tao Hu joined Xumatic on Nov.9, 2012. Mr. Hu received his BA and MS degree in Chemical Engineering from the prestigious Tsinghua University in China. Currently he is in the middle of his MBA studies at the University of Rochester.

Mr. Peter Ran joined Xumatic on Jan. 9, 2013 as the Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Ran graduated from University of Pennsalvania the Wharton School of Business with a bachelor of science in economics and have worked previously at JH Cohn auditing, Bear Stearns investment banking, Och Ziff Capital Management & Olympus Capital Asia as investment professionals.  Mr. Ran’s presence will strengthen Xumatic’s marketing, fundraising, and management capabilities in 2013.

Xumatic established a manufacturing base in WuXi on Jan. 10, 2013. Xumatic (China) will be producing solar materials and equipment for thin film solar cells. This manufacturing facility will bring many job opportunities and help the overall development of the city.

Mr. Lin Zhang joined Xumatic on Jan. 15, 2013. As a principal mechanic engineer, Lin is responsible for repairs and maintenance of various mechanica equipment in Xumatic.

Xumatic (Wuxi) begins to manufacture CIGS family powders and nanoparticles for nanoink application on April, 15, 2013

As the first author, Dr. Congkang Xu's scientific paper regarding CIGS solar cells production has been accepted for publication by highly ranked  international Journal" Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells on May 15, 2013. The patent application is in processing. Dr. Xu' approach to CIGS solar cells fabrication may have great potential to reduce manufacturing cost and enhance power conversion efficiency.

Xumatic (Wuxi) Inc begins its CuGa, CuIn and CuInGa rotary sputtering target research and development focusing on composition uniformity and stress-reduced solution on June 10, 2013.
Xumatic Inc produced CuInGa and CuZnSn rotatable sputtering targets with high density, small grain size (<100microns), ID135, OD 155 to165mm, length up to 2000mm on Sept. 22, 2013
Xumatic offers broad spectrum of rotatary sputtering targets including Si, SiAl, TiOx, ZnAl, ZnSn, Sn, Nb,NbOx, MoNb, AlNd and Al rotary sputtering targets applicable to glass coatings, flat panel display, PV, and TCO films on Jan. 2014
